Tip #10: Beware of Social Engineering. When hackers can't exploit a security vulnerability, they may try using info publicly available online to dupe you into giving them access to your systems and private info.

Tip #9: Keep Track of Your Digital Footprint. It is important to keep track of your social media accounts, and to delete accounts you aren't using, while ensuring that you create strong passwords that you change regularly.

Tip #8: Always lock your phone with a code or password. Update and back up your phone often. Install the "find my device" or "find my iPhone" apps on your phone. Alert your provider if your phone goes missing ASAP!"

Tip #7: Malicious threats and hackers don't always want to steal your data. Sometimes their end goal is to encrypt or erase it. Back up your important data to have an ultimate recovery tool!

Tip #6: Use Two Factor Authentication. Two factor authentication provides two layers of security measures. If a hacker can accurately guess your passphrase, there is still an additional security measure in place to ensure your account is not breached!

Tip#5: Do not click any links in a suspicious or unsolicited email. Do not reply to emails asking for NMSU credentials or personal banking information.

Tip #4: Clicking without thinking is reckless. Malicious links can do damage in several ways, so ensure they are from trusted senders before clicking.

Tip #3: Windows Key + L will lock your computer. Never leave a computer logged in and unattended, even if you will be gone only a moment!

Tip #2: Use strong passwords and biometric features on your phone. Don't automatically connect to public wi-fi. Ensure you turn off Bluetooth when not in use. Always download with caution.
